Small watercolour in hand carved and painted frame signed on the lower right as well as with lettering at the back. Signed Helen W. Lordly, Montreal West, P. Q. and titled "The Bridle Path" on Mount Royal in Montreal, Quebec.
Helen Lordly (b. 9-27-1900) was the daughter of Canadian engineer and Colonel Henry Lordly. Colonel Lordly was a friend of Willard Mitchell (1881 - 1955), Canada’s most famous miniature artist, whose influence can be seen in Helen Lordly water colours. It accounts for the similarity to Mitchell’s miniature watercolours also presented in hand carved and painted frames.
